October 30 Outfit of the Day

For this OOTD I wore my Gap leggings, with an Old Navy Chambray shirt, and my JLo boots from Kohls. I love this easy go to outfit. I wore this out one night with my friends and I wore it to work. It is so on trend and you can layer up accessories and hit the town.

Drug Store Mascara Showdown!

When I go to CVS or Walgreens I sometimes get overwhelmed with all the mascara choices out there. They all claim to give you fuller, thicker lashes with volume sky high! So I decided to test the choices out there. I bought Covergirl, Rimmel, L'oreal, and Revlon volumizing mascaras to test which one is the best choice. Sorry my face looks a little blotchy. I tried to do the photos in natural light.

The first one I tried was Covergirl Lash Blast. I will be using the same before photo for all of the comparisons. The first thing I liked about the Covergirl was the brush. It was soft and had enough product on it without clumping or anything. The mascara glided on and looked really natural. I wouldn't say this mascara gave as much volume as I expected.

After 2 coats

The second one I tried was Revlon Lash Potion. I didn't really care for the shape of the brush but it went on really well. One of the main things I look for on a brush is if its easy to get the inner and outer top lashes. I have a Make Up Forever mascara and the brush is so awkward that its hard to get in to the inner corners. This one had a really light feel and didn't even need to curl afterwards. I would say this was more of a twiggy look. Also when I took off this one it came off so easily and no raccoon eyes.

After 2 coats ( no curling)

So much length!

The third option was L'oreal Voluminous Original. This was the one I was a skeptic about. Honestly, because it was in a boring package and the mascara tube wasn't a loud bright color. Boy was I surprised. I liked the brush, it was very light weight and after one coat the lashes appeared fuller. The length was incredible. The feel was soft and not chunky either.

After 2 coats (no curling)

Great length!

The final brand I tried was Rimmel Scandal Eyes. I have always had good luck with Rimmel beauty products. I had high hopes for this one. I was disappointed with the brush, it didn't have a lot of mascara on it but still looked chunky, and it was way too big to get into the inner corners. It gave some volume but definitely needs to be curled.

After 2 coats

This image is kind of deceiving it looks like there is length and volume but not as good as the others.

So after trying all four of these I decided that the L'oreal Voluminous Original was my favorite, with the Revlon Lash potion in a close second. Both with the two coats didn't need much curling afterwards.  The length and volume was incredible. I hope this helps you next time you are trying to figure out which brand to buy!

October 26 Outfit of the Day

Today I went out to brunch with one of my besties to our favorite place. I chose to wear of course soft pants and my favorite fall sweater. These are super long, but they are cute and comfortable. I scored them in Stein Mart for $3.00! AHHHH I love the deals! Happy shopping!

October 25 Outfit of the Day

For my outfits this past week I have been wearing a lot of soft pants. Mainly because it's almost like wearing pajamas to work, but still business casual. These soft pants are from Stein Mart. They are the ITY fabric so they haven't shrank like the other soft pants I have. Which is terrible because I am tall for a girl now some of them look like flooders. The sweater is the same one from TJ Maxx. I am wearing it all the time. It's so comfortable and pretty much goes with everything!

October 12 Outfit of the Day

For this outfit I wore Rock and Republic textured leggings, which are so comfy. A basic black tank and a open knit long sweater from TJ Maxx. The necklace I have no idea where I got it from, and the bracelets are from Forever 21.

October 5 Outfit Of The Day

On October 5, we celebrated my birthday a few days early. My family and friends took me out and then I met up with the guy I have been seeing for a movie. I love Fall because I can wear leggings and boots. I usually live in them. My sweater I got in TJ Maxx, I loved the color of course its Seminoles colors. My leggings are from Gap, and my boots are from Kohl's by Jennifer Lopez. They are very comfortable and have a hidden wedge. Tj Maxx has some really great sweaters and tops right now for Fall. I went a little crazy there a couple times already. I have also added a picture of my make up. Usually during the week I do very basic makeup so I tried something new and I loved it! Sorry about my flyaway hair, it never stays down...

Altuzarra for Target

Another designer collaboration is upon us Altuzarra for Target hit select stores and online on September 14!

Joseph Altuzarra launched his line in 2008. Altuzarra uses his cultural influences from his heritage to inspire his line to make women feel confident, sexy and strong. His mother is Chinese-American and his father is French.

Altuzarra did an internship with Marc Jacobs, freelance work with Proenza Schouler, then moved on to assist Riccardo Tisci from Givenchy, it was just a matter of time until he launched his own line.

Vogue has praised his line and he has won awards from Forbes and now we (who are on a limited budget) can own a little piece of his talent.

Here are some of my favorite pieces that I can't wait to own! I love the fabrics, the snake print, and the ladylike clean lines of everything.

This dress is a super cure peasant with embroidery detailing. Retailing for $54.99 is a wardrobe must have.

I am obsessed with this woven and knit sweatshirt for only $29.99. Such an easy trend, I love how they paired it with a pencil skirt. Such a versatile piece you can wear with jeans, skirts, or pants.

I think that this snake print high slit pencil skirt is a great fall transition piece for $34.99. You can never really go wrong with animal prints and the sexy slit with a high stiletto will make you feel so confident.

September 5 Outfit of the Day

One of the trends I have embraced a lot from summer and going into Fall is the soft pants. It's an easy quick outfit. The pants are usually printed so you just have to put a solid top with it and if your tall enough you can do flats if not heels look just as good. These pants I got from Stein Mart. They had an extra 50% off their clearance during Labor Day so I scored these for $7! I actually got 2 different pairs. The black top which is a henley style I got from Marshalls. This day I chose to wear flat sandals and a brown leather cuff from Gap. And that's my puppy Aubree photobombing me!

September 3 Outfit of the Day

I can't even believe it is September already. This year has flown by! This week my buyer was in New York City for market so it was pretty quiet at the office. My outfit today was kinda spur of the moment and put together really fast since I usually set out my outfits the night before but forgot. The striped skirt is from Old Navy as well as the tank, and the white blazer is from the Queen Latifah line at HSN. And the heels are by Steve Madden. These have been a favorite pair of heels for a while now. I need to go get them fixed!

August 29 Outfit of the Day

For the Friday before Labor Day I had the day off. I had lunch with a friend and then went to see my mom at the school she works at. Then of course I did some shopping. I went very casual, which I usually do on the weekends. My textured shorts are from Old Navy and my crochet back top is from Bealls. Sandals are from Forever 21 and jewelry is from Bealls, Lisa Hoffman, and Forever 21.

August 13 Outfit of the Day

I really love just being comfortable all day while at work. I sit for most of the day and being able to move around is a must. These textured black leggings are from Rock-and-Republic and the bright re-range tank is super old from Forever 21. I put black sandals with it from Gap and added a red-orange necklace from Bealls and a few bead bracelets. This I think is going to be my new go to weekend going-out look.

August 12 Outfit of the Day

In an effort not to be so machy-matchy all the time since I tend to do so, and usually stick to colors and prints I like and aren't very "loud". Well I bought this dress from the HSN store, it's a Tiana B. and I loved the print. I am obsessed with paisley print right now. It was a little bit too big on me (but for $5 I would make it work), so I belted it and added my favorite Express white wedges and off to work I go. I literally got so many compliments on this dress. I was happy that people embraced it and didn't think I looked to "weird".

The Fray Concert OOTD

One of my friend's was so gracious enough to share her extra ticket to The Fray with me since her BF was working the show. So my top is from Colleen Lopez from HSN. It could be worn off or on the shoulder and its this deep, rich plum color. I absolutely love it. And yes I am bringing the "off-the-shoulder" look back. My jeans are skinnies from A.N.A. JCP. My brown strappy wedges are from Express. I do have to say these are some of the most comfortable wedges I own. They are a must buy every year for me now. For accessories I went a little wild...of course my MK rose gold watch made an appearance, the giant rose gold link bracelet is from Cotton On, and my earrings were from one of my old bosses. I usually keep accessories simple.

August 11 Outfit of the Day

So...I have been absent for a while. My job has kept me so busy and I have been forgetting to take pictures of the OOTD'S! :( I'm going to get back on the ball and get some posted and hopefully start with more beauty reviews soon as well.

So this outfit is mostly from when I went shopping the Monday after 4th of July. The cream tank is from Loft for a mere $10. I loving finding tops that are universal that can be worn under a blazer, a sweater, or just by its self. The pants are from JCP and they are Bisou Bisou. One of my greatest finds at $3.99! And of course my light mauve Giuliana Rancic blazer from HSN. My heels are from Bealls by Nine West another great find at 80% off and only paid after all my discounts $6.50.

June 28 Outfit of the Day

On Saturday it was my sister's birthday. We spent the afternoon at the dog beach with my puppy and then met up later in Tampa with some of her friends at my sister's favorite restaurant Bahama Breeze. For the dinner I wore a strapless black dress from Old Navy and I got the neon green necklace online. And of course my spiked Vince Camuto wedges. Please excuse the lobster redness...

June 20 Outfit of the Day

I love Fridays at Bealls Corporate, you finally get to wear jeans. I love denim it's such an easy go to look. I found this chambray shirt and stripe skirt for $10 each in Old Navy the other week. I decided that for this Friday I was going to wear a denim shirt. I paired it with a bright pink skinny belt and Steven Madden white wedges with hot pink trim. I liked this look it was a different look for me and I'm enjoying experimenting with new outfits.

June 18 Outfit of the Day

This ensemble today is from Kohl's. The dress is by Apt 9, which I scored for an awesome deal of $12.00. And the jacquard jacket is from Dana Buchman which is a super comfortable jacket. My necklace is really old I think I got it in Charlotte Russe. And my heels are from HSN by Theme. They are black with pewter cap toes, ahhhhh I love them!!!!

June 16 Outfit of the Day

This dress I got from the HSN store one day when I went shopping with my friend. It is a Queen Latifah, which is super comfortable and I like that the hi-lo isn't very dramatic. I wore this to my mom's friends birthday party and I wore it to work one day and got a ton of compliments. I accessorized with jeweled earrings (which I got from the business I used to work for) and my beaded bracelets from Ann Taylor Loft and Lisa Hoffman, don't forget the Michael Kors watch. And of course my Express white strappy wedges.

June 12 Outfit of the Day

So I thought yesterdays outfit got a lot of compliments at work, but this one surely surpassed that one. My black tank and skirt are from Rhonda Shear, my blazer is this magnificent light blush color from HSN by Giuliana Rancic, my seriously sharp black wedges are Vince Camuto from HSN as well. My necklace was a steal for $2 from Dots (since closed all stores). Wearing this outfit I felt like a buyer in NYC going to market checking out all the new product for the coming year!

June 11 Outfit of the Day

I can't even start to explain why I love this outfit so much. First, the printed pants are from Old Navy. They look a little PJ-ish but I swear they are not. The elastic/drawstring waistband makes them really comfortable to wear all day. My basic navy tank is from JCP, of course I love these tanks because they have a 2% spandex so they keep their shape really well, better than 100% cotton ones. My white blazer is from HSN by Queen Latifah. My super high white wedges are from Express, surprisingly they are really comfortable. My necklace is from the undeniably awesome Charming Charlie's. I love how trendy this outfit is and how many compliments I got from all my fellow buyers!
