Maple Holistics: Degrease Shampoo

I have always dealt with my hair being slightly "greasy". I wash my hair every other day and on day two it's in dire need of a good scrub. I have never been the type to buy all the salon brand shampoos and conditioners. I have been using drug store shampoo for as long as I can remember.

I had never tried natural hair products before. This Degrease Shampoo from Maple Holistics was my first attempt at a different avenue. And can I just say that I am so happy that I took a different route. The first couple times I washed my hair with this shampoo I kept looking in the mirror and seeing if my hair looked oily like it used to, and it didn't! My hair also felt different, it was soft but not oily.

As you can see in the photo above, the formula contains French cypress, lemon, rosemary and basil. All ingredients you will not find in most drug store shampoos. All these combined creates an undeniably great product!

Although I had a few things I wanted to mention that I didn't like. I particularly didn't like the scent. It definitely has a natural, lemon scent. I am one of those people that smell every shampoo or shower gel before I buy it. And there's nothing like a nice clean scent to wash your hair with after a long day. The last thing was that if you are like me and have thick hair you had to use a generous amount to cover your entire head. It did foam up really well though once I get it all on.

Overall, I would recommend this shampoo if you have greasy or oily hair.

Buffalo Plaid & Graphic Tank

This past weekend I went to a local mall in Tampa with my mom. When I woke up I really wanted to dress like it was Fall. Except it was still going to be in the 80s. So I styled this outfit: a graphic tank (of course I have one about pumpkin spice), black denim jeans, and my buffalo plaid button down tied around my waist. Even though it was hot that day I was able to pull off a "Florida Fall" outfit.

Magenta Moto Jacket

Inspiration from Old Navy email

While I was I college I worked at The Gap. I worked there for almost 5 years. It had it's highs and lows, like any job. One of the best parts was being able to to the markdowns and set aside all the deep discounted items that were in my size.

This magenta jacket has always been one of my favorites. I scored it on clearance and for less than $10. People always commented on how I have so much stuff from Gap and how can I afford it. And my answer always was that I would hold out for the goods deals and if it was meant to be it would still be there.

I saw this inspiration from an email from Old Navy and thought of all the moto jackets that I have and I realized that I haven't really worn the magenta one in a awhile.

Kimono Love...

Whenever I see a page in one of my magazines that could be inspiration for a blog post, my mind starts to go wild. I think about all the clothing I own and how I can take their inspiration and make it my own. I always love a great third layering piece. A couple years ago kimonos were all the rage. I had bought several of them. But this tassel one is one of my favorites. I love the colors in it and how you can either dress casual like it did with some denim shorts or you can wear a pair of black pants and style for work.

Pink Knit Sweater

Inspiration from Old Navy email

I had bought this sweater 2 years ago. I had bought it for a trip to New York to see my family. It was going to be in the Spring time when I was up there but I knew it would still be chilly. I found this sweater on clearance for $12 at Old Navy. I was in desperate need of a sweater and $12 sounded pretty good to me! Plus I loved the color. I honestly haven't worn it much since then.

The other day I received an email from Old Navy and I saw the models outfit and I thought about all the items in my wardrobe and knew I could replicate the look. I thought about that pink sweater and the gold flats, and the outfit just came together.

Plaid & Embroidery

Fall is in full swing for most parts of the country. The weather is starting to change, people are bringing out their boots and blanket scarves, and I am just over here in Florida still at 90 degrees, hoping for an unexpected cold snap.

The above photo I snapped from my People Style magazine again. I loved how they paired the light embroidered jeans with the dark plaid. All the dark plaids I have are flannel and even for this shoot, it would be too hot! So I was thinking of what I already owned, (plaid wise) and found this pink and navy plaid from Old Navy. I bought it last year for a trip to New York I was taking. Of course still living in Florida I had to add my Sperry's. I absolutely love these because they have a little bit of glitter on them!
