Surprise Engagement!

A couple weeks ago, one of my good friends, her boyfriend reached out to me and asked for my help with proposing. I told him I was in. So we started planning. He wanted to do the proposal on the beach near their house, where he first took her before she moved down to Florida. Where they had a long walk and found sand dollars together. Which is now one of her favorite hobbies, as well as dolphin spotting. So we had this plan to do it at sunset. He was going to be down on the beach a little ways and waiting for us. Now, my job was to figure out how to get her down to the beach without her suspecting anything. So I told her I want to do a blog post and feature her on it. I mean, come on, she's 5'10" and perfect for modeling. I had my friend do her make up and we chose a cute pink dress for her to wear. So she thought it was all apart of the blog post. Never did she suspect she would get engaged at the end of it. Even on the car ride to the beach we were discussing when she thought he would propose. Little did she know...

So after we got down to the beach, I was texting her boyfriend asking where he was, and he wasn't answering me. I wasn't sure how far down the beach he was and I started to panic. What if I am walking the wrong direction? What if he's not out here? I was so nervous.

Suddenly, I looked up and through this tree I saw the balloons flying in the breeze. I motioned to my other friend who was there, also in on the plan to go ahead and start to take photos of her walking up the beach. I turned on my video and started to record.

She walked up a little ways and saw him up on the sand with a balloon saying "Marry Me". She let out a scream and I think was in a little shock, obviously not expecting to see him. She walked up to the shore and he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She said YES!!!!

I was so happy that I could be apart of this amazing day and honored that he asked me to help.

Makeup Monday: Birchbox June Review

So I recently signed up to receive Birchbox. This is my second box I have received. I was skeptical because I really like my Ipsy bags, and was worried I would receive duplicate samples. So far I have received different brands and different products.

The Beauty Crop Blush Duo: This duo has a cream pink blush and a peachy powder blush. I really like this one. I love blushes and this is a great one for traveling. Both formulas are very easy to apply and the cream one is very soft.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair: I usually don't use to much night repair serums. I do have very dry skin and usually use moisturizer. This serum is used to help prevent aging, improves dryness and reduces wrinkles. So far I can tell a difference in my dryness. I think I would purchase a larger bottle and see if continues to work for me.

Dr. Jart+ Beauty Balm: This BB cream reminds me of a highlighter, I would mix this with my foundation for a glow-y finish. It has a slight pink undertone and would definitely help cover imperfections. I will definitely be buying a full size version.

Vasanti Brighten Up Face Rejuvenator: I love face washes that are a little "gritty". It makes me feel like it is washing all the dirt and dead skin off so that the brighter, clearer skin can come through. And that's exactly what this rejuvenator does. This cleanser has tiny little microcrystals. It is formulated to replicate microdermabrasion results.

Mellow Matte Liquid Lip Paint: I speak to a lot of people who either like matte lip sticks or they can't stand them. I actually really like them. Some f them can be drying to the lips. But this one was not. And I love this shade. It's a little darker, but a neutral shade at that. The website link has more colors that go from very bold to everyday shades.

Tropical Prints

If anyone knows me they know I love color, and I love prints. I saw this inspiration in my People Style Watch-June issue. Living in Florida makes it easy to embrace this trend. Tropical prints with a black ground are trending right now, but I recently bought this top in TJ Maxx. I thought it was  super cute with white bottoms and also I love this "fruit punch" color. There are many ways you can wear this trend, like the page above you can wear a bathing suit, shorts or incorporate tropical florals into your accessories.

Floral Embroidered Jeans

I recently was at Gap Factory store. I used to work for Gap while I was in college. I always loved their clothes. So I make it point to still check them out. When I saw these "girlfriend jeans" with blue embroidered flowers I knew I had to have them, plus they were on clearance! These jeans are such an east way to dress up denim. Or you can try what I did and dress it down with a white tee.

Makeup Monday: Formula 10.0.6

I received this sample awhile back in my Ipsy bag. Before I started Ipsy I very rarely did masks of any sort. But I started receiving many more so I became intrigued with the different types. This brand is one of my favorites. This mask works to clear clogged pores and clarify skin. Which is two of my biggest facial issues. All you need to do is apply a thin layer and let it try for 15 mins, then just wash off. I highly recommend this one. They also offer several different types of including pore cleanser, skin brightening mask, face wipes and moisturizers. Check out the entire Formula 10.6.0 line at Ulta.

Express Graphic Tees

Express is known for their trendy, fast fashion apparel. They have a vast selection of dresses, tops and bottoms. You can either find an outfit for work or for the weekend. And right now, I am obsessed with their graphic tees and tanks. They have such a vast array of styles, necklines and prints. Even if you are going to be a future bride or part of a bridal party there is a shirt for that! I got this one last year, and I feel like it represents my weekends rather appropriately, I do enjoy a nap in between everything. Check out some of these cute styles!

Floral Sneakers

When I saw these cute lace up, floral sneakers in Bealls, I knew I had to have them. First of all they have a memory foam insole. Which makes these super comfortable. I have a pair of slip ons by this brand with a cute pineapple print and the memory foam bottom truly makes a difference. Secondly, they are a price you can't beat...$12! And third the floral print on these is adorable. I call this look the "mom on the go" look. It's a no fuss look, because all the attention will be on your shoes!
