The Tweed Pencil Skirt

While shopping at JC Penney's a few years ago I hit the clearance mother load! I had found this grey tweed skirt, a textured black skirt, a couple tops and some nice jackets for around $50.

I was going through a phase of buying nicer dress clothes for my job, since the attire is business casual. The fit of the skirts were perfect for work. They weren't constricting at all and slightly stretchy so I could still move. Plus they had an elastic waist which made them comfortable to sit at a desk all day in.

I always pair this skirt with this choker neck top from Marshalls. I was going to buy this shirt when it was on the regular price rack. But I held out and luckily I was able to score it for 50% off once on clearance for $10.

Plus mixing textures like in this top and skirt is great way to make a trendy outfit. Also with this embellished neckline, no need to accessorize too much.

The Neutral Look

This is another outfit I put together from an inspiration page from InStyle magazine.

One of my favorite colors to wear is olive green. So when saw this inspiration I knew I could put together an awesome outfit. Mixing neutral tones is an easy way to pull off a trendy look. No need to add flashy prints or a large statement necklace, basic solid tones are what makes this outfit.

Also just by tying a knot in the maxi skirt makes gives it a draped look and of course to show off your cute boots!

Red + Denim

I saw this inspiration from one of my Instyle magazines. They were pairing red with denim. When I was thinking about putting together an outfit for this shoot, I was thinking "will this look too holiday?" But it definitely does not. I love the faux leather jacket and the studded wedges, creates such an edgy look. I love this cute red tank top. It was such a steal at TJ Maxx awhile back for $10.

The "Bon Voyage" Sweatshirt

One of my New Years resolutions is to travel more. I want to try to travel some place every month. Whether it be for work or for a personal trip, out of state or in state. I want to get out there and explore. My travel bug is pretty much domestically right now. I would love to plan a bigger trip abroad somewhere but for now there are so many cities I want to explore in the states.

I actually bought this sweater a while back, probably over the summer. If you read my blog enough you can tell that I love graphics or anything with novelty. Of course, the sweatshirt was on clearance. I only paid $6.99. Love a good deal for an adorable sweater.

It would also be perfect to wear on a plane while traveling. It's a nice light, french terry fleece. I actually think I will wear it when I fly to Denver at the end of this month!

The Faux Leather/Knit Jacket

I am absolutely in love with this jacket. It's edgy and of course trendy. I had found it at Bealls Florida on sale for 60% off, plus an extra 30%! So I think it ended up being about $20. I also love the heather sleeves.

I have mostly wore this jacket either with black leggings or denim jeans. It's not a very heavy jacket, but it's enough to keep you warm on a chilly night. The neutral color is great too, because you can even add a pop of color underneath. I even wore it out on New Years with a Red tank and leggings and it was adorable.

This is a great jacket for a night out with your girlfriends or on date night.

The Trendy "Basic" Outfit

When it comes to style, I truly believe that some of the best outfits are just basics. Take this outfit for example: 1. basic denim jeans 2. basic long sleeve black shirt 3. brown boots 4. cream infinity scarf.

All these pieces are staples to any wardrobe. The styles you can create with basics are endless. I have several long sleeve basic tees, they are perfect for layering or pairing with a fun print scarf or statement necklace.

Don't forget to stock up on some great long sleeve tees and boots, they will all be going on sale to make room for all the new Spring fashions!

The Fuzzy Vest

I actually found this vest on the clearance rack at Bealls. I have always been a fan of third pieces. Whether it be a vest, a cardigan or whatever. A third piece is a great way to add a little flare to any outfit. It cane be either a different texture or a funky print.

I love pairing it with jeans and a low heel. It's a great piece that you can either dress up a little or dress down. Plus, I love the neutral color, and it is so soft.

For this outfit I went more casual on the bottom with denim and put this pretty floral top from Violet & Claire with it.
